Manyfarmers and workers in developing countries struggle to provide for their families. Poor market access and unfair trade rules often mean that the price they get for their crop does not even cover the cost of production. They face the global challenges of many food price rises as well as the problems created by climate change. The Fairtrade Foundation is the independent non-profit organisation in the UK that licenses the use of the FAIRTRADE Mark on products that are in accord with internationally agreed Fairtrade standards. It is also committed to raise awareness of Fairtrade and trade justice issues in schools, businesses, faith groups and local communities.

Emma Farmer is promoting the organisation as well as the sale of Fairtrade goods in our parish.

Contact is to be confirmed however, more information is available on the following websites:  The Fairtrade Foundation and Traidcraft.

Planned Giving (or Gift Aid)

If you are a UK taxpayer, please consider signing a Gift Aid declaration so that we can claim back income tax on the donation you make into the weekly collection at Mass.

Your donation is anonymous, as it is made using the Planned Giving envelopes, which Margot Madin will give you if you are prepared to sign a Gift Aid declaration.

You can also use the planned giving envelopes for second collections.

You can also sign a Gift Aid declaration to cover your donations to the parish if they are made by standing order.

The Barnabas Fund

The Barnabas Fund is an organization that cares for the practical and spiritual needs of persecuted Christians throughout the world. Its magazine, which Geoff makes avaiable in the porch from time to time, highlights the plight of the Church in countries whose governments or whose religious majority are a hostile force and suggests ways we might pray for and to contribute towards the victims’ relief.
